2982 o      New York Foreign Mail Cancels Collection, 1870-80's. 69 Banknote issues on pages, 1¢-30¢ denominations representing a nice array of NYFM's, nice showing of scarcer types including a nice strike of the rare Weiss TR-M7, other noted including TR-M2, TR-C7 (two different states), RE-E4 (the fouled anchor), GE-C1 and many others, many nice strikes throughout.

Excellent collection comprising (used unless noted) ungrilled 1¢ (6), 3¢ (64 including and unused strip of 5), 10¢ (2, one unused)), 12¢ (12), 24¢ (19 including two steel blue), 30¢ (2), 5¢ brown (2) and 15¢ (2), E. grill 3¢ (5), 10¢ (1), 12¢ (3) and F. grill 3¢ (13), 10¢ (pair), 12¢ (3) and 15¢ (2); most were acquired for their cancellation interest, but there are also a few constant plate flaws; few small faults, especially on the higher values, generally F.-V.F., Scott value is about $14,000, An outstanding lot.
