Worldwide Public Auction - January 24, 2018

Auction 339 has 6,326 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. Items range from $30 to $80,000 so there's something for everybody.

This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections along with over 200 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 352-556) and over 400 lots of World collections (Lots 557-956).

Following on there are over 1500 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 1012-2533). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a Third Watermark £2 Purple-Black & rose. Superb M Superb centring. SG 45b cat £4500+, ACSC 56c cat $6500+. Rare top value, especially with such excellent centring.(Lot 1056).

There are also almost 3800 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 2534-6326) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a Malaya - Straits Settlements 1912-23 KGV $100 black & carmine on blue, wmk mult crown. VF MUH, nice never hinged original gum with beautiful deep colours. SG 214 cat £12,000 for M, should be at least double, £24,000 MUH. Key British Empire high denomination & great rarity MUH (Lot 4892). Numerous other European and Asian rarities as well.
