Unreserved Auction Sale - March 13-14, 2024

LIVE INTERNET AUCTION. NO FLOOR BIDDING This auction will be held using Stamp Auction Network’s ‘LIVE INTERNET BIDDING’ March 13-14, 2024

---------- On February 28, 1924, my grandfather, Dr. Richard A R Maresch, received his stamp dealers license for 75000 Austrian Kroner. We are happy to be celebrating our 100th anniversary as a business.

This auction will be held over two days live at Stamp Auction Network. We will not be having floor bidding, but in house viewing will be held the full week before including Saturday, and the two days prior to the auction. This sale offers many lovely items from the properties of over 75 different owners and estates, some who have been customers for over 60 years. Many of the lovely items in the sale were previously bought from our auctions including some from better names sales we have had over the years, including the Bill Simpson Small Queens. Some of the items from Mr. Paul Barker, who exhibited in the 1996 CAPEX Court of Honour, and had items featured in the Gems of Canadian Philately Handbook by Charles Firby. Day One will start with Canada collections and large lots. A large Canadian Postal History section including the wonderful collection specializing in Ontario County collection of split ring town cancels. This will be the first half of the collection, Algoma District to Lincoln County including Northern Ontario, with many on covers with the earliest recorded (ERD) or the latest recorded (LRD) dates.

The day will continue with Proofs, Pence, Cents with a specialized grouping of 1859s with 10¢ Prince Consort by printing order on cover, and a lot of 12½¢ plate study, Large and Small Queens, Jubilees, George V with many IMPERFORATE and PART IMPERFORATES, with a great section of Scroll issue lots including many imprint pieces, a set of upper sheet margin TETE-BECHE IMPERFORATE booklet panes of 12, and George VI IMPERFORATE Plate blocks. Followed with Elizabethan IMPERFORATES, as well as perf shifts, missing colours, etc.

Day Two we will be continuing with Canada, starting with the back of book issues, with complete booklets, Airmails, Semi-Official Airmails, Special Deliveries, Officials, Revenues, and Provinces. We will continue with British Commonwealth including Australia, and Worldwide including Topicals, Austria, France, Germany and States, Italy, Portugal and Colonies, Switzerland, and USA with early used as well as Proofs, and Trans-Mississippi ESSAYS, Zeppelin Airmails.

The entire sale offers a large number of larger lots, plus many Revenue lots scattered throughout, our shelves are full again. Please allow ample time to come in and view the numerous larger lots. Your efforts will be rewarded. VIEWING: We are open to the public for viewing Monday March 4, 2024, to Saturday March 9, 2024, and Monday March 11, 2024, to Tuesday March 12, 2024 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Earlier viewing by appointment only.

Start times are 10:00 AM EST, with a 30-minute break at 1:00 PM EST and another at 5:00 PM if necessary. Our auctions are held in Canadian $. Invoices for customers with living outside of Canada will also have the $ US amount at the rate used on the day of the sale.

We are currently working on our next sale, with many nice collections including the used Canada Pence to George V of Robert McCall featuring 2-RING and 4-RING cancels, Large Queens with watermarks, etc. We are always looking for material in for our upcoming auctions.
