We counted 146 different stamps (with a few issues having a mint hinged, and a used example), up to and including Scott 290. We note many better items, such as Scott #7 (used pair, c.v. $285), 68-70, 71, 73 (used, $470 total), small selection of grilled issues from the 1867 and 1869 issues, mint and used 1893 Columbians up to the $1, mint and used 1898 Trans-Mississippi up to the 10c, complete mint, with some used, 1901 Pan-American issues, complete mint and used 1904 Louisiana Purchase sets, and continues with mint and used stamps, sets and partial sets up to 1980. The collection also includes primarily used back of the book issues including airmails, postage dues, special delivery, Hawaii (roughly 40 different mint and used stamps, including Scott #12 (if genuine, with faults), and Offices in China (ranging from Scott #K1- K14). The lot continues with two stockbooks of mint and used accumulations, generally from the 1890s up to modern day, including $351 of face value postage (counting 10c up to $5, with the majority in the 20c to 36c range). Owner's 2014 Scott catalogue value totals $24,283. Online scans show a sampling, and we recommend in-person viewing as we cannot attest to the owner's proper identification. We note many better items, such as a group of 19 diff. used grilled issues, including a very nice set (to the 30c) of the 1869 issues with nice colours, used set of the 1873 issue, 1893 Columbians are used to the $1, 1898 Trans-Mississippi are used to the 50c, complete mint 1901 Pan-American issue, complete mint 1904 Louisiana Purchase set, many mint and used Washington and Franklin issues incl. coils, and so much more. Back of the book is equally strong, with complete mint 1918 and 1923 Air Post, complete Special Delivery (missing E10, all used except for E1 which is unused, no gum), complete Parcel Post used, 48 out of the 96 Postage Dues (mostly used and includes a used sheet of 100 of J87), and the following mint Officials: O7, 16, 18, 28, 73, 83, 91-93, 126, used O66, 109, 121 and last but not least is a page with 8 mint and 2 used Confederate States issues including a lovely #2 with a socked on the nose Richmond VA 1962 c.d.s. All in all a better than average collection, with a very high catalogue value, with faults here and there, still mostly fine or better.
