907 CVR Netherlands image1864 High Value Franking on Folded Cover to England, mailed from Haarlem on FEB.12.1864 to London, England with FEB.15 receiver on front. The folded cover is franked with a strip of four of the 10c carmine William III imperforate, with mostly large margins (Scott c.v. on cover is $775) tied by four fine strikes of the boxed "FRANCO". Very fine and scarce, with Georg Buhler expert handstamp at lower left. A used strip of 4 (off-cover) is valued at €900 in the N.V.P.L catalogue.

909 CVR Netherlands imageCollection of 7 Early Netherlands Covers with Oval Business Handstamps, 1857-1863, four are franked with 5c imperforates (incl. two milky blue shades) and three have single 10c frankings. Despatch town postmarks include Tiel, Haarlem, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Roermond and Maastricht, with three circular datestamps and the rest half-moon datestamps. There are also receivers from "Wyk-By-Duurstede" and "Hollande Par Marseille". Most items have stamp plating information in pencil on back, as well as some shades, and one is marked "thick paper". There is a mix of half-moon and circular datestamps and we also note the use of boxed "FRANCO" and "Na Posttiid" (too late) handstamps.
