783 CVR   imageGroup of Interesting Early Covers, 1871 to 1908, earliest is an 1871 stampless cover mailed at Warsaw U.C to Toronto (reduced at right); an 1899 cover mailed from Toronto (flag cancel) to Germany, franked with a 5c QV Leaf issue (small opening tears at top); an 1899 registered cover mailed from Halifax (Emily King corner card) to Cleveland, Ohio and franked with a 6c and two ½c QV Numerals paying the 7c rate; a 1908 cover mailed from St Germain de Grantham, QC to Germany, franked with a single 5c blue Québec Tercentenary, with "Imperial Post Office" re-sealing tape on three sides. Also 10 Small Queen covers (with various faults, most 3c but includes two 6c mailed in 1873, one to US and one to UK), two covers franked with Québec Tercentenary issues (one to France, one to Switzerland), a DEC.10.1898 8c Numeral registered cover (mailed in the short 2 month period before the rate changed, with Montréal squared circle precursors on back), and last but not least are three Numeral issue illustrated advertising covers including a lovely colour one depicting a lady doing her laundry with some "Surprise Soap".
