This lot includes an extensive Bavaria, in which we noted Scott 7 used (c.v. $140), used set 256-275 ($190) and a group of 91 stamps from Scott 2 to 13 collected for their clear, mostly numerical, cancels. We also noted Brunswick used 5 (c.v. $325), 3 used copies of Hannover 18 (c.v. $600) and two used Prussia Scott 10 (c.v. $320). Also noted 4 Bavarian "retour" stamps and a group of 12 mint Bavarian Railway parcel stamps. Possibly more finds are to be made in this not well organized lot. The Lighthouse album consists of a comprehensive collection (includes shades and perforations varieties) of primarily mint stamps beginning with a near complete run of Victorian stamps (identified by owner) with Scott #1-38 (missing 18, 20, c.v. $2,441 total), along with mint and used #39-44 (c.v. $119 total), 49a/60 (c.v. $457 total), 66-75 (includes mint 66a, 67a, 69a, 71a-c, c.v. $542 total), and a complete mint set 76-94 (c.v. $2,560 total). The collection continues with King George V and VI mint issues (including shade and perforation varieties), and what appears to be a complete run of mint stamps from 1953 up to 1999. The second album consists of a few early examples of "A26" obliterators including on Scott #A39, A41, A45 (c.v. $200 total), along with souvenir sheets, booklets, singles and gutter pairs ranging from 1977 to 1998. Online scans show pages up to 1954. Catalogue value counted up to 1954 only. We note some faults with the early material including mint no gum, heavy hinging with hinge remnants. Better items include 1934 Britannia Re-engraved Seahorses Scott #222-224 mint hinged (c.v. £630), and 286-289 mint never hinged (c.v. £80). The collection continues with roughly 50 presentation packs, mostly from the early 1970s but did note a few more modern packs up to 2015, along with roughly 200 first day covers, primarily ranging from the 1970s up to the early 1990s (we did spot a Millennium Royal Mint first day cover with £5 coin, along with a few other numismatic first days).
