2008 og S.G. #153d imageS.G. #153d, 1907 "Kingston Relief Fund/1d" surcharge on 2p Slate and orange, tete-beche pair normal and inverted, variety is the center pair in a mint vertical strip of four, fresh, o.g., light hinge reinforcement to center perfs. to prevent separation, very fine; this variety occurs because the setting was not as large as the sheet and required being put in the press more than once, in this case inverted in one pass, a very scarce error; 1961 RPS certificate (Scott #B1, B1b; tete-beche variety not listed). (Image) S.G. £850

SOLD for $750.00

2009 og S.G. #153f imageS.G. #153f, 1907 "Kingston Relief Fund/1d" surcharge on 2p Slate and orange, inverted surcharge in vertical pair, one normal, one double, the top stamp being distinctly double surcharged, each being a strong equal impression, displaced by a little over 1/2mm, o.g., double surcharged stamp n.h., very fine; like the tete-beche strip above this variety is caused by the fact that surcharging the full sheet required more than one pass in the press, in this case one pass was shifted one stamp lower causing a row to be printed twice; Stanley Gibbons does not make clear whether their listing is for inverted or upright overprints, but it can exist either way for the same reasons, only priced used and this pair is purported to be the only known mint example (Scott #B1, B1e; se-tenant variety not listed). (Image) S.G. £340+

2016 ogObl Barbados Britannia Issue valuable and substantial collection of over 850 mint and used singles, plus another 80 stamps in multiples from pairs to a block of six, this design, produced by Perkins, Bacon & Co., was used for 30 years between the first imperforates issued on blued paper in 1852 until the Key Plate Victoria issue of 1882 (Scott #1/59; S.G. #1/88), there is a nice range of the earlier and usually scarcer mint and used imperforates and includes examples of all the first issue on blued paper, the imperforates include various shades, later issues also have a variety of shades and all have been identified by Stanley Gibbons to take advantage of the more specialized and detailed listing, in addition to shades there are other varieties throughout including perforation varieties, as well as imperforates of some later issues that are normally perforated, there are six certified examples of S.G. #23 that appear to be on bluish paper, but the Royal Philatelic Society refused to verify this, also watermark varieties, many numeral cancels are present starting with the early numerals in oval of bars, then the later numeral "bootheel" cancels, most are "1" of the General Post Office but other numerals of the outlying parish post offices will be found throughout, there are also a few bisects on pieces that are genuine, as well as a few fakes, in addition there are a few mint and used of the 5/- Dull rose and several used examples of the 1p on half 5/- Dull rose provisionals, there is far to much to list all the scarce and desirable items here, condition does vary as would be expected for this period of material but overall quite clean and a large portion are fine-very fine; catalog value will be enormous and this is certainly a lot worthy of careful viewing; accompanied by 126 RPS, BPA or APS certificates.
