742 og/nhblc Bale #104-106sh Bale #104-106sh, Jerusalem Locals, Second Issue sheets, collection of ten full sheets of twenty, includes two complete mint sets of sheets, one shows a dramatic "Boomerang" printing flaw across three stamps in the second row of the 10m Blue on bluish, also a set of cancelled sheets complete with undated Jerusalem cancels, and an additional 5m Red brown on yellow sheet with two missing rows of vertical perfs. at right producing four horiz. pairs imperforate between the stamps and between the right stamp and right selvage, this last sheet is never hinged, the others are o.g., hinged in the selvage only with all the mint stamps n.h., also includes three covers with full sets of the Second Issue with Jerusalem cancels and a fourth with both the First and Second Issues, all unposted, fine-very fine. 743 Pbl Bale #105P imageBale #105P, Jerusalem Locals, 10m Second Issue overprint proof impression of the entire sheet of 20 (167x202mm), plate 12999, with "No" at left obliterated (this looks to be very heavily printed and was normally trimmed away on the issued stamps, though traces occasionally show), printed on white paper watermarked "Hollywood Bond", very fine;this is the only example recorded of this overprint proof; also includes 5m -25m overprint proofs of a single row of five impressions, each on white wove paper (160x115mm), very fine; 1979 H. 744 og/nhblc Bale #108-18, MS imageBale #108-18, MS, Nahariya Locals, First and Second Issue tete-beche sheets of eight cplt., first issue is in both rouletted and imperforate sheets, the 20M Red imperforate sheet has the "Mil" for "Mils" plate flaw (hinged in two stamps, but the scarce variety is n.h.), second issue includes both the tete-beche double sheets of eight as well as mint single sheets of four plus each on individual covers tied by "By Sea" slogan cancels (Bale cancel #C8), the souvenir sheet of all three values is also tied to another cover by this same cancel, all unposted, finally a choice trial strike on envelope of "Emergency Mail To Haifa" slogan cancel dated April 4, 1948 (Bale cancel #C4), excepted as noted above all the mint sheets are o.g., n.h., very fine. 750 c Bale #124 var. imageBale #124 var., Safed Local, 10m Black on white paper, a most unusual variety that occurred because the Safed local was printed on the reverse of envelopes, some of which were the unissued Safed postal entire with an imprint of this stamp, this example was printed right on top of this imprint, it lacks the blue background on the front and has a virtually full imprint on the reverse of the envelope stamp (this is a correct impression and not an offset which would be a mirror image), tied to a bilingual corner card cover of "Ecole De L'Alliance/Israelite Universelle" to Haifa by red Lilac double circle c.d.s. of May 14, 1948, stamp lifted and hinged back into place to show the impression on the reverse causing the ink of the cancel to run a bit, vertical fold to the cover, otherwise very fine and an extremely rare variety of an already scarce stamp.
