826 Obl   Bechuanaland and Bechuanaland Protectorate substantial used collection, in excess of 400 stamps are present in singles and a few blocks of four, plus a full pane of 60 of the ½d Green with "British/Bechuanaland" overprint (#40) with Moochudi c.d.s. cancels, multiple examples of each stamp are often present showing different cancels and varieties, all are neatly mounted on pages, there is a nice range of the early issues including 30 of the 1887 Definitives with values to the 5/-, included but not counted are £1 and £5 high values with revenue cancels, later issues of the Protectorate are also comprehensive and many better sets and singles are collected to 1966 including postage dues, a wide range of different cancels are present, condition is excellent with only the occasional fault, nearly all are fine-very fine; this is a country where used are more challenging than the mint; Scott value is over $6,500.00. 829 O   British Central Africa and Nyasaland Protectorate used collection/accumulation, mounted on quadrille pages, over 350 postally used which are often more difficult than the mint, many having several of each value showing different cancels, "B.C.A." overprints are comprehensive to the 5/-, plus a £1 Blue and the two shilling surcharged values, the first Arms design has values to the 5/-, the second Arms design is complete to the £1 less the 3/-, Edward VII is complete to the £1less the 10/-, all of these British Central Africa issues have higher values with revenue cancels that are not counted, Nyasaland Protectorate has Edward VII values to the 4/- and George V and VI values are complete to the £1, Elizabeth II issues are collected to 1964, plus postage dues, also included but not counted are over 80 high values with revenue cancels, condition is clean with many desirable items, mostly fine-very fine with few exceptions; Scott catalog value is over $7,900.00; a worthwhile collection that needs to be viewed to be appreciated. 830 ogObl   British East Africa area mint and used collection/accumulation, this collection consists of hundreds of stamps from the various entities that evolved in this area that largely consist of the countries that are Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika, stamps were issued separately and combined in various forms, most significant are the issues under Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, with better sets and singles of George V and VI as well as the later Elizabethan period, also includes British East Africa with better early issues, East Africa and Uganda of the Edward VII and George V period, Tanganyika from "G.E.A." overprints to George V issues, and Uganda as a separate colony in the 19th century, all are collected mint and used with multiple examples of many values, o.g. or used, some flaws are present but the vast majority are fine-very fine; Scott catalog value is easily over $10,000.00; certainly worthy of examination for the better items that are found here. 831 ogOblc   Cape of Good Hope desirable triangle collection/accumulation, neatly mounted on pages containing 121 singles representing all printings, plus four square pairs, a block of four and two attractive 4d covers including one with a square pair, numerous examples of each value of the Perkins, Bacon and Co. and De La Rue printing are present, mostly used, plus there is a used 4d Milky blue "Woodblock" with small faults, another repaired example is not counted, there are some pen cancelled copies and a group of nine forgeries that are not counted, most interesting in this collection is the condition which is decidedly better than the usual faulty quality that is found in so many collections, certainly some faults will be found but generally, where present, they are small and unobtrusive, a vast majority of the stamps present have nice margins all around and sound fine-very fine items will be found throughout; not your usual collection and examination will be beneficial in appreciating the quality; total Scott catalog value is well in excess of $35,000.00.
