742 S 6S var. image#6S var., 1860 1/- Brown with "Specimen" overprint, double impression, double impressions of a typographic design are invariably rare, this shows two distinct impressions, a lighter one is displaced to the top left from the other both being clearly distinguishable, o.g., h.r., light horiz. crease that is totally irrelevant as only two examples are believed to known (S.G. #6S var.) 743 MR9b var. image#MR9b, 1917 3p Violet, with "War Tax" vertically reading up, top margin block of four, not only is the vertical overprint a scarce variety but on this example it is misplaced to the right so that "Stamp" is omitted on the left pair and "War" is omitted on the right pair, the stamps are especially well centered, o.g., top right stamp is l.h., the other three are never hinged, very fine and extremely rare; Scott catalog value for normal vertical prints is $1,700.00, this being much rarer (S.G. #75d; £1,600 for normal vertical overprints). 747 nh 9b image#9b, 1897 1/2d Jubilee, triple overprint, a magnificently well centered stamp showing three distinct overprints of equal strength, amazingly fresh with brilliant colors, pristine original gum being never hinged, simply superb; not only is the condition of this stamp virtually beyond improvement, the rarity of this stamp is even more impressive as this is the only known example of this triple overprint mint or used; the catalog values reflect neither the rarity nor the condition; the only available example of a wonderful rarity; 2007 B.P.A. certificate (S.G. #9b; £5,500+).
