20273 , Sassone Sassone image1941 (June 15) Cover from the Banca Commerciale Italiana to Milan, franked by fie examples of first issue 2d, tied by P.M. no. 2 cds. As a significant Italian company in an occupied territory, this bank benefitted from the service of the Italian military mail, which offices were supposed to only accept Italian metropolitan stamps, although exceptions were tolerated during the first months of occupation; illustrated in the Sirotti handbook on page 90. 20274 Sassone Filagra image1941 (June 15) Overprinted 1d stationery postcard (back side of the reply card) addressed to Paris, uprated for the 5 dracma external rate with "Mythology" 2d (2) and the required tax with "Previdenza" 10L, tied by Kerkyra cds's, Salonica cds and framed "Verificato/Per Censura" censorship hs at left, with accompanying "3" below, German censorship also tying part of the franking (probably from Vienna), with application of German "Zurück/Retour" & "Umzulässig/Non admis" instructional return markings as certain postal documents (as the postcards) were not admitted to be sent to the occupied France. CC.NN. da Sbarco" to Pola (Italy), "Zakyntos" cds at right (Astolfi fig. 1, p.8), Italian censorships alongside; illustrated in the Sirotti handbook on page 114. These Greek postcards were only accepted by applying the Italian overprint used for the Zakyntos (Zante) stamp issues (incl. the date of occupation) in order to avoid taxation. 20282 Sassone Sassone image1942 (Jan 12) Cover from Zakyntos to Volos, franked at single rate with "Isole Jonie" overprinted 50c, in mixed franking with charity "Beneficenza" 50L, the latter rarely applied on correspondence only during the Easter and New Year's festivities to collect money for the antituberculosis campaign for postal employees, both tied by dispatch cds (Astolfi fig. 3, p. 7), alongside with "3" censor's mark of Corfu, and reverse two strikes of framed "Ufficio Censura/Z82P" on departure, Kerkyra and Volos backstamps. 20287 Sassone Sassone image1943 (jan 15) Cover from Licsuri (Lixourion) with contents to Athens carried via airmail and Rome, franked by 1,25L and airmail 50c pair, tied by very fine strike of elusive Lixourion cds (Astolfi p. 11), with Argostoli transit cds and Rome censorship label and markings on reverse.
