The high values are not the 'smaller overprint' normally associated with the stamps sent to the UPU in Berne. The sole recorded example used in Lamu. Extremely rare, this error was corrected almost immediately after the first printing and its sheet position is uncertain, see "British East Africa" by John Minns, pages 70-71. Just three examples are recorded therein, one of which is housed in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III. Unique. Cert. RPSL (1933) Gi = £ 5'500.rnrnNote: The "Brit1sh" error is found on only four values: ½ a., 1 a., 2 a. and 2½ a.
