2254 image1842/1910, Selection of nine covers, comprising four early stampless examples, four which have various combinations of Cêrès French frankings, sent from Post Offices in India and a 1910 envelope unfranked with a combination of Pondicherry and GB postage due marks, noted; 1849 Mauritius to Bordeaux and 1850 Liverpool to Mauritius both with scarce "Packet" marks, two examples sent from India to France endorsed via steamers out of Bombay (1842) and Madras (1854) respectively, both with interesting paid and packet mail marks, as well as four example dated between 1873-1881 sent from Pondicherry to France, one with Pondicherry paid, all with different frankings and three different rates, three which are tied by attractive datestamps, condition is generally fine with just the odd fault which is to be expected with such mailings, a very scarce and attractive group.
