  • Rasdale Stamp Company Worldwide Public Auction - August 10-11, 2024 Welcome to our 3rd sale of the year. As we put covid in our rearview mirror, we can look back clearer on its effects on the stamp market. From mid-2020 to mid-2022, the market was very strong across the board with the US showing marked higher prices which was best illustrated in the price of postage. From mid-2022 through most of 2023 prices were falling to a varied degree amongst particular areas. The basic Western Europe material showed the biggest drop. Now that we are well into 2024 the market has seemed to be leveled off, if not strengthened. The US again is leading the way, but all areas are better, especially the more advanced collections or hard to find individual items. Quality is always in high demand.

Now to the sale- there are many desirable US collections. Additionally, throughout the entire sale you will find collector made intact offerings from many different areas. For those of you who like the bulk lots, there are many to choose from including the “Red Bird” estate (Part II). There is very strong China in both the collections and singles. Not to be overlooked is the British and US singles section. Especially notable are the US errors. Lastly, numerous quality topical holdings and the cover section is stronger than recent sales.
