Paradise Valley Stamp Company "Paradise Live" Auction #S109 - December 5, 2020 We are pleased to present our “PARADISE LIVE” auction #S109 comprising of lots from Greece with Large Hermes Heads and Newfoundland mint and used. Live bidding will start at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, December 5, 2020 on Stamp Auction Network. Lots sold in this sale are subject to a 12½% buyer’s premium. In order to participate in the sale bidders need to be registered with us thru Stamp Auction Network. Are you unable to attend the sale? Check out Stamp Auction Network’s unattended live bidding feature, a premium service offered to registered bidders on Stamp Auction Network for a fee, however it is available for free until the end of the year. Lots sold in this sale are subject to a 12½% buyer’s premium. The holding of Greece Large Hermes Heads was acquired around 1980-81 largely from the well-known collector, dealer and expert Peter Holcombe of Lugano, Switzerland. We have left the stamps on his original sales cards which are showing his notes and identification of the issues. In addition we sent some of the better items to be examined to Paris-based expert Pascal Scheller. He made notes on the photocopies of the sales cards that accompanied the stamps we sent to him. These signed copies are included with each stamp he has examined. In essence these become short certificates of authenticity. This is a little treasure trove of Large Hermes Heads that have not been on the market for nearly 40 years. The Newfoundland offering is largely from an old-time collection formed in the 1970s-80s with much of the material acquired thru Robson Lowe sales. There are neat little varieties and attractive well-centered singles throughout the sale. The highlight is of course the 3c 1919 Hawker Airpost on cover. Lots sold in this sale are subject to a 12½% Buyer’s Premium. Credit card payments and Paypal payments are accepted without fee. FREE SHIPPING TO US BUYERS! For our buyers outside of the US, we also offer a shipping incentive if purchases exceed $1,000.00 and fits into a USPS medium flat rate box. Shipping can be combined from different sales. Contact us for details. For shipments outside of the United States we offer free shipping if purchases exceed US$1,000 provided that the lots purchased fits into a USPS Medium Flat Rate Priority box (fits two normal albums). Purchases may be combined from different sales during a calendar month, however purchases must be paid after each sale. If purchases exceed $1,000 and the shipment will not fit into a flat rate box, a credit will be given towards the actual shipping cost. Please note that any unsold lots from this sale will not be available for purchase afterwards. The Live sale starts on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1 p.m. EST on Stamp Auction Network. H.R. Harmer GPN, Inc. The Ing. Pietro Provera Collection of United States Stamps and Postal History Part I - December 8, 2020 Upon viewing the Provera Collection, it is immediately apparent that every single stamp and cover was specifically selected for its beauty. This was true when the collection first arrived at our office, and it is more true now as I flip through the first of two auction catalogues. Even the more “common” material is represented here in exceptional quality—stunning advertising covers, uncommon destinations, unusual cancellations. Every item in the collection had a purpose and a place. It was the work of a determined and methodical collector. Specific highlights include:-1851 1c Blue Type 1b (#5A) pair on cover (positions 3-4R1E), sent from Apalachicola, Florida to Boston (Lot 520)-1857 1c Blue  Type Ia (#19) on cover from Boston, described by Stanley B. Ashbrook as “a gem, and in my humble opinion, on a par with the Newbury cover and the Brooks cover” (Lot 540)-1898 $1 Trans-Mississippi right margin arrow pair, NH and proof-like impression (Lot 684)
