TWO PENCE: Perf 10½ 2d vermilion vertical corner pair from the U/L of the sheet, the lower unit with Re-Entries to Frames at Right & Base ACSC 151d, the upper (normal) unit creased, unmounted, Cat $2000. Very rare. [The ACSC states that a fault (probably a plate crack) developed affecting R2/2. This & the unit above were removed from about 80,000 sheets & destroyed! Examples of the re-entered unit are rarely seen. Arthur Gray's example in a corner block of 4 sold for $1028]
TWO PENCE: Perf 10½ 2d pale 'terracotta' ACSC 151B John Ash Imprint block of 8 (4x2), well centred, hinge remainders on two units & in the margins, six units unmounted, Cat $2500++. With an imprint block in vermilion for comparison. [The term "terracotta" is misleading: this shade is more properly described as 'pale orange'. Arthur Gray's similar block - five units mounted - sold for $1330]
