1583 og FRANCE, 1944-45 Liberation Issues Specialized Collection. Over 1,500 stamps, in singles and multiples up to a full sheet of 100, these were produced as each town was liberated, either with "R.F" or another form of obliteration, many complete sets, arranged by town, each with number and price from the 2015 Mayer catalogue, the most definitive work on these issues (a copy of the catalogue is included in the lot), several varieties, some of which are not listed in Mayer, a large number Mint N.H., some used and a couple covers, many of the better items are signed by experts in the field, the total Mayer catalogue value approaches €100,000, and that does not include the ten "R.F." overprints on U.S. Air Post stamps, nor anything not listed, Fine-Very Fine, collections of these scarce and difficult stamps are rarely seen in such depth
