1672 og Saving Stamps Balance. Postal Savings, Savings, and War Saving Stamps, mostly unused, singles complete less No. WS5, so it does includes the $5.00 Lincoln (WS6), a few of the higher values no gum, many Mint N.H., a couple with minor flaws, otherwise Fine-Very Fine, Scott Retail about $3,300.00

SOLD for $900.00

1673   First Issue Balance. Imperforate stamps to $200.00, with many cataloguing hundreds of dollars each, various part-perforated, the perforated stamps lack only the 6c Proprietary and $25.00 Mortgage for completion, also some Silk Paper varieties, all with manuscript cancellations, slight duplication (often on the higher cataloguing stamps), somewhat mixed quality, a large portion Fine-Very Fine, the imperforate stamps catalogue about $13,000.00, counting only stamps with sufficient margins to be considered genuine, so there are some uncounted such as No. R53a with Weiss certificate as genuine, but it is doubtful real experts would certify it, and defective (but probably genuine) R79a, the perforated stamps catalogue well over $6,000.00, so including the part-perforated (which mostly appear genuine) and silk paper (which has several stamps cataloguing hundred of dollars each), the total catalogue value will be well in excess of $20,000.00

Lovely assemblage of approximately 150 stamps, carefully culled from the much larger Michael Willis collection and neatly arranged on stock pages by denomination, each with a handstamp cancel without manuscript, showing an extremely wide range of styles and colors, the majority are perforated issues but there are many imperforates and some part perforated as well, denominations range from 1c thru $25.00, a few small flaws are to be expected on some and the centering also covers the range, overall Fine-Very Fine or appear so, a choice collection of handstamp-only First Issue Revenues and worthy of review (a pdf is available on our website), Scott Retail on many is quite low but those prices assume manuscript cancels, a number with Scott Retail above $100.00
