Encompassing collection of one man's lifetime collection covering the entire span of Treaty Ports from Amoy thru Wuhu, replete with proofs and essays, singles, multiples, sheets and postal history of this fascinating area of Chinese philately, with specialized studies of plating, setting types, cancellations and with copious notes and research of each area, we notice numerous items which have catalogue and/or retail value from $50.00-$2,000.00, some even higher, some duplication but not excessive, with coverage of areas not often seen in this quantity

AN IMPRESSIVE CHINA TREATY PORTS COLLECTION OFFERED INTACT AS RECEIVED. A REMARKABLE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A COLLECTION WHICH IS SELDOM, IF EVER, OFFERED IN THIS SIZE AND SCOPE AND AN IDEAL COLLECTION FROM WHICH TO CONTINUE BUILDING UPON.

Some key highlights from each Treaty Port:

-Amoy: Incl. Nos. 3, 12 with imperf margin, 14a, J2, plus Postage Due errors and varieties such as "Due" Shifted with Nos. J1c, J3a, J7c, J10a and J11a, plus J7 block with missing "Due" and unlisted inverted blue overprints.

-Chefoo: Variety of cancels and seventeen covers or stationery. Album of complete sheets of 40 or 50 of Nos. 1-5, 8/13 and 14-16 with different settings.

-Chinkiang: First Issue combination cover with French Post Office in China, First and Second Issue imperforates, some postal history, better Postage Dues incl. varieties such as Black over Red overprints, inverts, split "P"s and even No. J8b.

-Chungking: Incl. early sheets such as No. 1 sheet of 40, 2 sheet of 10 plus another used sheet with imperf between and 1894 Issue in sheets of 40, plus other key items such as No. 3a, J1 and 2ca postal card plus an unused and revalued card and other covers.

-Foochow: Hundreds of stamps and some covers incl. special cancels such as "Pagoda Anchorage".

-Hankow: Incl. First Issue, 29 5c Tea Carrier proofs in different colors, 20c Pagoda essay in violet, No. 5-6 in used strips of ten, 1896 "One Cent" varieties incl. Nos. 24d, 25f and 25h, Postage Due incl. both Ty. I and II, reconstructed strips incl. large spacing and 20c, plus varieties incl. Nos. J8a, J10a and J10c.

-Ichang: Variety of cancels, blocks and covers. One of the highlights of entire collection is 1894 2ca Essay in Dark Green, vertical tete-beche pair of which only one sheet of ten was printed consisting of only two tete-beche pairs, two side to bottom pairs and two singles. The other tete-beche pair sold for HK$34,500.00 in a 2014 Hong Kong auction.

-Kewkiang: Incl. No. 1c block of nine with Stroke missing (likely unique), 8 sheet of 50, plus some covers, stationery and scarce cancels.

-Nanking and Wei Hai Wei: Over 150 stamps of Nanking incl. Nos. 1a, 2a, 3 used on local cover. Wei Hai Wei incl. few examples of Nos. 3-4.

-Wuhu: Incl. 1895 inverted overprints, Nos. 43c, 44b, 1896 inverted overprints, large blocks and Postage Due incl. -1/2c with watermark and many varieties. Some covers incl. 1894 1c used on Nov. 26, 1894 and Wuhu wax seal cover. (Image)
