EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS IS WITHOUT QUESTION THE FINEST EXAMPLE OF THE 1920 $5.00 WAR SAVINGS ISSUE IN EXISTENCE. A PHENOMENAL STAMP IN EVERY RESPECT.

War Savings stamps were issued annually from 1917-1921 and again from 1942 to 1945, to help fund participation in World Wars I and II. The stamp offered here was the final series of World War I, and matured on January 1, 1926.

This is the first Mint N.H. example we have offered since keeping computerized records. The online records of The Philatelic Foundation contain one other, but it is straight edge at right and has a natural diagonal crease.

With 1988 and 2002 P.F. certificates (Image)
