EXTREMELY FINE. A RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE $5,000.00 "SERIES 1946" OVERPRINT STOCK TRANSFER ISSUE. A GREAT RARITY -- RICHARD FRIEDBERG RECORDS ONLY EIGHT COPIES.

This issue is not known without a cut or perf cancel and it is only known used. Five of the eight came from one find. We have offered only one other since keeping computerized records.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. ONLY THREE EXAMPLES OF THE $10,000.00 "SERIES 1946" OVERPRINT STOCK TRANSFER ISSUE ARE RECORDED. ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL REVENUE STAMPS.

An extensive search of auction records for the past 35 years produced only three examples of this Stock Transfer rarity. They are consecutive serial numbers, cancelled on the same date, and may have originated on one document. They are:

1) Serial no. 5134, the example offered here, ex Turner and Buford

2) Serial no. 5135, handstamp and cut cancels, ex Joyce, Ballman and Fleischman

3) Serial no. 5136, handstamp and cut cancels, ex Joyce, Lyons and our 2002 Rarities sale.
