Substantial collection housed in seven Scott "Platinum" hingeless albums with slip cases, to 1996, predominately used to about 1879, virtually all unused thereafter, nineteenth century incl. No. 1 (pen cancel removed), largely complete 1851, 1857 and 1861 Issues less the rarest stamps, some grills featuring a 12c Z Grill (1999 APS certificate mentioning a crease), 1869 Pictorials complete less 3c, nearly complete Large Bank Notes less Special Printings, 1890 issue compete, Columbians to 50c, good showing of 1894-98 First Bureaus and Trans-Mississippi to $1.00, 20th Century with all the better commemoratives, fairly complete Washington-Franklins with some questionable flat plate coils as usual, essentially complete thereafter, Back-of-Book incl. Air Post complete less Graf Zeppelins, some Special Delivery, Postage Due with a few better, few better Offices in China, fair showing of Officials (mostly used), about 35 Newspapers with a fair number better, Parcel Post complete, lastly some Hunting Permit stamps with a few early, condition somewhat mixed early on but gets better later and there are many nicer quality stamps to be found, generally Fine-Very Fine or appear so, a valuable collection worth careful review, approximately 16 certificates accompany E. $ 10,000-15,000

829   U.S. Collection, 1847-98. Several hundred stamps on pages, nearly all used, many highlights incl. No. 1 (two), 14-17, 18 original gum, 19 with ms. line cancel (a bit eroded), 23 pair on piece, 28-38 (plus a few unused), 56, 62B, 64 on Patriotic cover, 67 (three shades), 70b, c, d, 71 original gum, 75, 79 85B, 85E, 86-101 plus part original gum 97, unused 102, 1869 Pictorials complete, virtually complete Large and Small Bank Notes less Special Printings and couple others, Columbians complete to 50c both used and unused, unused 246-261, used 261A-263, used 264-278 and complete used Trans-Mississippi, condition is quite mixed as one can imagine after reading the contents, but there is still a lot of Fine-Very Fine, good value to be found as well as many respectable looking stamps with hidden problems, a very comprehensive and valuable nineteenth century U.S. collection balance
