Mountain Howitzer Division (Paymaster) cachets, also a violet seal and Constantinople military transit markings on back, some filing folds, rare cover, signed Georg Muentz, with his 1987 certificate. Stated to be one of only two known with Jerusalem Registry labels (the other, quite defective, ex-Dr.Jerome Byers was sold in 2002 for $950) (Image)

The sender must have known that there was no registration service for Austro-Hungarian mail, but still endorsed as official registered letter, bringing a charge of 15 heller penalty assessed on arrival in Vienna. Stated to be the only known Austro-Hungarian registered military mail cover from the Middle East, incorrectly charged postage due (Image)

38 E C3 image1931 (10 Apr) Egypt Flight card from Alexandria to Jerusalem, with 7 May arrival pmk, v.f. On the return trip from Palestine to Germany, L.Z.127 Graf Zeppelin, landed in Cairo and remained there for only 30 minutes. There was not enough time to unload all the mail and some pieces were taken back to Germany. This card was sent from Germany by train to Trieste and from there by boat to Haifa, finally arriving in Jerusalem on May 7th, 1931. Only a few pieces recorded (Cat No. C3) (Image)
