6391   imageMilwaukee, Wisconsin, Cabinet Cards & "Carte de Visite" Assortment. Former comprising twelve different examples, each with a thin photograph mounted on a card measuring about 112 by 165 mm (4½ by 6½ inches). Latter eight examples, including one depicting a mailman. By the early 1870s, cartes de visite were supplanted by "cabinet cards", which remained popular into the early 20th century, when Kodak introduced the Brownie camera. Great state of preservation, and a terrific lot for the collector or dealer, Very Fine.
