6700   imageFrance, 1912, 25c Nancy-Luneville Flight Semi-Official, used on picture post card showing the Bastille Day review of troops in Nancy, addressed to Brünn, Austria; Semi-Official tied, along with 5c green Sower, by July 28, 1912, c.d.s.'s (city names indistinct or cut off on each); reverse with clear Luneville July 31 receiver; card signed both front and back by pilot Nicaud and datelined "Nancy 28/7/12"; further pencil notation at top of reverse notes (in French) "card conveyed by Lieut. Humbert, of the artillery"; edge wear plus small tape-sealed tear at top (not affecting stamps), F.-V.F., a scarce piece of early French aviation, only 14,700 Semi-Officials were sold, with most of the remaindered copies destroyed.
