1942-45 Japanese Forces in World War II mail all identified as from China predominantly used to Japan comprising Postal Cards with
Dove & Helmet, Samurai on Horseback (one 3s brown with handwritten Four Character label affixed over the value indicium), Star or Four Characters many with illustrations on the reverse including military & topographical scenes plus one hand-painted,
also a Pictorial Fold-Out Lettercard used from a Transport regiment, two Helmet Envelopes used from a Cavalry Regiment or Telegraphic Signals respectively, an illustrated envelope used from China Expeditionary Army serviceman with Four Characters
cachet & censor chops added, a few postcards including of a Japanese merchant ship used from Chibu Butasi, Shan Hai Kuan City Wall used from North China Railway Command, etc, each with Four Characters cachets & censor chops added, a wide variety of
censor markings, condition a little variable but generally fine to very fine. A fascinating lot.

excellently by Japanese...", superb triple-oval 'COMITE INTERNATIONAL/ SHANGHAI/CROIX + ROUGE' cachet in violet, very fine; and 1944 (July 12) 'MESSAGE' form from a British internee in Shanghai to a women at Lungwha Enemy Civilian Assembly Centre
with telegram-like message "...Ward Road Police Hospital. Operation. Now better. Returning camp shortly...", very fine Lungwha camp cachet in rosine & unidentified han in scarlet, a bit aged.

British POW in Taiwan with brief family message at the base, Japanese cachet applied at Kinkaseki Camp No 1 in violet with han of Tahara in scarlet, surprisingly fine. Stated by Lindsay Chitty to be the only such Vatican form recorded to "the Far
