unsealed flap to Germany with boxed 'PRISONER/OF/WAR/LETTER', superb 'SERVICE...' and small Major Sands cachets all applied in violet at Liverpool Camp and boxed 'PASSED BY/CENSOR SD' of Sydney in violet, on arrival at Halle redirected to Dresden. In
our opinion, this is the pre-eminent item from Bourke. See EFR at page 168. Ankenbrand was later sent to Molonglo: see Lot 4719. (Image1)
