Surface-Printed ½d pale green & 2/6d lilac (SG 178; unpriced on cover) tied by multiple faint but legible strikes of 'LONDON & HOLYHEAD/T P O/UNITED-STATES-MAIL' cds cancels, a few edge bends & blemishes clear of the adhesives. The item was posted
directly onto the Travelling Post Office to Holyhead to catch the packet to Kingstown and the ship departing from Queenstown. The rate was 2½d per ½oz foreign letter x12 plus ½d late fee. (Image1) (Image2)

1913 exceptional real photo PPC "HM Air Ship Delta" showing the dirigible tethered among a throng of onlookers with two men on a
ladder perched against the lower fin, message states "I wonder if Kennie can find 3 people whom he knows...This army airship the last one bought for the country kindly came down in Redhill [sic] so crowds went to see it", KGV ½d tied by 'RED
HILL/JY8/13/ 3 ' cds, superb; also 1912 Winton PPC 'Mr Lewis WF Turner in Flight' (at the controls of a fragile-looking biplane), sent under cover with message "Aug 20th 12. We saw this very machine...I bought this card on the grounds...We saw one
byplane [sic] ...with a male passenger...". A marvellous eye-witness duo.

1919 (May 3) British Forces in Palestine OHMS cover with oval 'DEPUTY DIRECTOR/THE PALESTINE NEWS' (censor?) cachet, to Australia
with 5m tied by 'ARMY POST OFFICE/SE4' (?) skeleton cds and boxed 'AERIAL POST/EEF' (= Egyptian Expeditionary Force) cachet in violet. Rare destination for these mails. Civil unrest in -.3.1919 resulted in the Royal Air Force introducing an airmail

1919 Railway Strike Airmails group endorsed "Per Aeroplane" or similar comprising 1) to Birmingham with KGV 1½d brown & 1/- bistre
pair tied London 'WESTERN DISTRICT OFFICE W.1/1 OC/19' cds (the first day of the service); 2) oversized envelope to London with KGV 1½d brown & 1/- bistre block of 4 tied 'GLASGOW/1 OC/19' cds (first day; a few edge faults); 3) long envelope to
London with KGV 1½d brown & 1/- bistre pair tied 'NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE/2 OC/19' cds (the first return flight from Newcastle); and 4) to London with KGV 1½d brown & 1/- bistre pair tied 'BIRMINGHAM/2 OC/19' cds (second return flight), condition fine to
very fine except as noted. The Railway Strike commenced on 27.9.1919 and ended on 6.10.1919, the last flights being made that day. The rate was 1½d up to 4oz inland letter rate plus 2/- per 1oz airmail surcharge.

ISLE OF MAN: 1917-18 box of stampless POW mostly lettersheets (only three with 'Prisoners of War/Pat 2333/15' heading) and
envelopes virtually all from the one correspondence from Knockaloe Aliens Camp to Germany, excellent variety in the 'OPENED BY/CENSOR' labels with an array of different 'P.W.' censor numbers including several with variants (see the online scans; one
