82 nh image1905-10 Small Crown/A Watermark Lyrebird 2/6d blue-green Perf 11 as SG 349b corner example from the upper-right of the sheet Imperforate at Right ACSC N68b with Sheet Number '293708', one tonespot in the margin, mounted in the upper margin only, the stamp being unmounted, Cat $2500. Sold at our auction of 24.1.2004 for $3280 (Sale 108 Lot 519), at which time it was not listed in the ACSC. One sheet was affected, resulting in twelve examples of the error, of which the HL White vertical strip of 6 is institutionalised, leaving only six examples in private hands, most of which have faults and/or no gum. Geoff Kellow in 'Stamps of Victoria' states at page 101 "it seems that a remarkable error occurred ... with the wrong Colony's name being engraved originally". The NSW version was never issued.
