1901-10 KEVII 'POSTAGE' V/Crown £2 die proof State 2 in rose-carmine on ungummed unwatermarked paper (53x75mm) ACSC V135(DP)2B,
very fine, Cat $6000 (down from $15,000 in the 2004 edition). Ex Samuel Reading, JRW Purves and Rodney Perry. The ACSC records two examples of this proof and only five others (two in blue) for the £2. If this was a die proof for the £2 Kangaroo, the
estimate would be $50,000+. (Image1) (Image2)

1901-10 KEVII 'POSTAGE' V/Crown £2 die proof State 3 (Pointed Beard with the Right-Hand Portion Lined) in salmon-pink on thin cream
wove paper (76x124mm, folded to half that size) ACSC V135DP(3)B, a few very minor blemishes well clear of the impression which is superb, Cat $5000. Ex the Estate of Samuel Reading and Rodney Perry. Only three examples are recorded.
This is a very significant issue. Victoria's £1 & £2 were the only adhesive postage stamps from any State bearing the portrait of Edward VII. There were higher-value Postal Fiscals, but this £2 is the only postage stamp of that denomination and
therefore the highest face-value postage stamp of the six States. (Image1) (Image2)

historically important essay that was intended to be a uniform issue for all six States. However, only New South Wales and Queensland adopted the design. (Image1)

1905-13 KEVII 'POSTAGE' Crown/A £1 imperforate plate proof block of 4 in carmine-red on ungummed unwatermarked wove paper ACSC
V130(PP)2, margins just clear - at the base - to huge with portions of both adjoining units at left, manuscript endorsement "[initials]/3 5 10", Cat $12,000 (down from $20,000 in the 2004 edition). A famous proof that is illustrated in the ACSC, and
stated to be "the only recorded examples". Ex Henry Harvey and Rodney Perry. The ACSC lists this item with the 1901 V/Crown issue but the manuscript date is that of the first printing on Crown/A paper and we suggest that it should be re-classified as
V132(PP)1. (Image1)
