OFFICIAL STAMPS: 1869 'SERVICE' Overprint 2d yellow with small sans-serif 'SPECIMEN' Handstamp Samuel Type D5 in Black, excellent
colour, no gum. Unissued. Rare. Kimmel & Pearson at page 348 state that Marcus Samuel did not record Type D5 on the 'SERVICE' issue but that Baron Percy de Worms recorded it in black on the 2d 6d 1/- & 2/- and in blue on all values. K&P do not
illustrate a 'SERVICE' stamp with D5 and the inference is that they have not personally recorded any examples. In respect of D5 across all Colonies, Samuel at page 40 states "it is very scarce to rare". (Image1) (Image2)
