that this stamp "was included in collectors' sets late in 1930 and archival records indicate that only 20 sets were sold before it was realised that the high value stamps should have been overprinted SPECIMEN instead of CTO and were withdrawn". PCNZA

Sterling. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2012) states "superb & fresh". The ACSC states that "this is a rare stamp, with only 360 printed"; after allowing for the Damaged 'C', Damaged 'C' & 'S' and Shaved 'P' sub-types (rarer still), only 240 'normal'

remainder, Cat $10,000. The ACSC states of the Type C overprint that "only 360 [were] printed", which means that only 60 of this sub-type (occuring six times on the forme of thirty) can exist. This stamp is better-centred than Aubrey Pitt's example

 £1 grey Die IIB SG 75 with Type C Overprint block of 4, the left-hand units both with Damaged ('Hooked') 'C' in 'SPECIMEN' ACSC
53xd and the right-hand units both with Shaved 'P' in 'SPECIMEN' ACSC 53xf comprising two horizontal se-tenant pairs of the varieties, the lower-right unit with a rounded corner at lower-right, Cat $7500+ for a mounted block of 4 with normal
overprints. The ACSC states "multiples are rare ... at present a block of 8 and eight blocks of 4 can be recorded. The block of 8 and at least three blocks of 4 include sub-types 1 and 1a" [Damaged 'S' & Damaged ('Hooked') 'C'; our emphasis] but does
not mention any pairs or blocks including both sub-types 1 and 2 [Shaved 'P']. Although not recorded in the ACSC, Arthur Gray's block of 4 with the same positioning of the varieties - unmounted but with 'suntanned' gum - sold in 2077 for US$6900. (Image1) (Image2)
