1969 (Jan 1; New Year's Day) Forces in Vietnam airmail cover to Australia with Birds 30c Ibis pair tied by 'AUST FPO/ 3 ' machine
cancel used at Vung Tau, 'HEADQUARTERS/RAAF CONTINGENT VUNG TAU/AFPO 3 ...' cachet at lower-left, minor blemishes. There was some confusion over whether official correspondence was entitled to concessional rates: in this instance, the rate appears to
be Zone 2 airmail letter (the same as if the item had been sent from Australia) 15c per ½oz x4, but see also Lot 2365 above.

scarce franking of Gemstones 6c tied by 'WATSON'S BAY/NSW-AUST' cds, a couple of minor blemishes. The ACSC states that this stamp was issued for "make-up use" and does not price solo frankings. The concessional rate for British Forces to send airmail
