Carried per "Alameda", departed Sydney 13.7.1891, arrived San Francisco 6.8.1891; rail to New York arrived 11.8.1891. Pursuant to the Postal Treaty between Tasmania & the USA, all trans-Pacific covers were required to be stamped 'PAID/ALL' but Tasmania ignored that provision. [The Illustrattion is above Lot 1441]
