1852-56 Queen-on-Throne Campbell & Fergusson Printings Bond to the Queen dated 19 May 1854 being the contract signed by James Stirling
Campbell and James Fergusson and two other parties "to print and gum from plates now in the possession of the Postmaster General of the Colony of Victoria certain postage stamps ... according to the specimens of such gumming in the said Schedule
hereunto annexed" along with the piece of gummed paper (240x110mm approx) headed "Specimen of gumming" signed by Campbell & Fergusson and other parties, minor folds and the bond with a few small adhesion marks. Possibly the most significant document
relating to the printing of stamps in the Colony still in private hands.

right-hand units slightly cut-into at top, Geelong Bared Numeral '2' cancel, Cat £560+ for singles. Illustrated in Kellow & Shawley at p99, where the authors state that "it is presumed that these sheets represent proofs which were sent to the Post
Office with the main stock". This is the largest known multiple.
