EARLIEST RECORDED DATE: 1d deep bright red ACSC 75C, quite well-centred, light but clear Sydney '11JL/1918' machine datehead cancel. The ACSC states that "the stamps were printed in January-April 1917 ... [but] ... were not issued until July 1918, the earliest known date being 15 July 1918". Scott Starling Certificate (2019) states "this is four days earlier than the currently known earliest use of the Die IIIs".
