336 F image1d carmine-red Plate 1 Substituted 'CA' Monogram single ACSC 72P(1)ze, the monogram with characteristic Nick in Outer Circle at Left and Shaved Outer Circle at Right, light 'PENRITH/NSW' cds, minor reinforced perf splitting & a couple of light aging marks, Cat $4000 for mounted mint (unpriced used). Used monograms are very scarce and should by worth a substantial premium. After replacing Cooke in May 1918, Harrison substituted Cooke's personalised 'JBC' monograms with generic 'CA' monograms. The ACSC states that "the substituted monograms are rarer on rough paper than on smooth paper, the printing comprising only a small remainder of paper". Scott Starling Certificate (2023) states "a fine example of a very rare monogram".
