Dr. Eckerlin was director of Herbst & Illig of Frankfort-am-Main, Germany. In 1928, Dr. Eckerlin contacted Treadway of ABN for purposes of promoting a proprietary rotary intaglio printing process that was faster and cheaper than steel

THE FINEST STRIKE OF THE EXTREMELY RARE STRAIGHT LINE "CARRIACOU" HANDSTAMP - WITH ONLY FOUR EXAMPLES RECORDED.
This straight line postmark was originally a two-line handstamp reading "Carriacou, Ship
Letter". This is the only British Colonial handstamp we know of of an original handstamp being altered with the bottom line removed. This cover sold in April 2006 realizing £4,878. (Image1)
