1746 o      Papua New Guinea, Cancellation Collection. On album pages and black stock sheet in 3 sections, the first arranged by town with 116 stamps meticulously annotated, about half of which are Lakatois. Includes BNG, Registered Samarai, Abau, Bonagai, Buin, Bulolo, Bwagaoia (1940, 2), Ioma, Kulumadau, Losuia, etc., some New Guinea usages plus an NWPI 1d used from Rabaul, relief cancels and a very pretty group of 1916 Lakatois on piece with VF Samarai E.D. cancels. The second section consists of approximately 115 Australia stamps used in Papua with values to the 5/ (2), most used from Port Moresby but also Madang, Rabaul, Samarai, Daru, a few Relief cancels and FPOs. Also, a group of 17 covers, all but one QEII era, much bank correspondence with regular. Relief cancel and interesting destinations Suva, Rokopo to Rabaul, Auckland, Dunedin, Honolulu and Ghana. All appear F-VF.

1750       Portugal, Collection, 1853-199. In 6 volumes. Lindner hingeless pages, binders, slipcases, etc., all in mint condition. The pages start at 1853, while the stamps start at 1910, with a complete King Manuel II set, then complete overprints of the same, 1911 mostly complete, 1917 complete except for 30c, and a high degree of completion from this point on except for most souvenir sheets and other expensive items. Early stamps are a mix of mint and used, while the later ones are generally mint NH or cancelled to order. Estimated $5,000 catalog for the stamps, and the albums would cost about $2,000 new.

1751       Rhodesia, Collection, 1913-24. ½d//£1 KGV The intact collection of Admiral issues on album pages all identified by SG numbers (prior to the revision) and all mint but about a dozen, many (including high values) with duplication. Die I perf 14 includes values to the 2/ (ex-the 8d, of course), perf 15 3d, 6d and 2/ (3 of each); Die II stamps include 5/ (2), 7/6, 10/ and £1 (3, both shades represented), the perf 15s represented by 2/6, 5/ and 7/6, Die III includes 3/, 5/ (3) and 1922 2d- 3/, 5/ (3) and 10/ (2); the perf 15 2d through 3/. Also includes singles and blocks of the Half Penny overprint. Condition appears F-VF throughout.

Mostly mint issues neatly displayed and written up on quadrille pages in Scott album; starting with the basic stamp types and postal announcement card of surcharge issue, a breakdown of the 3 printings starting with 1st printing with varieties including #16Ab in pair and used, white sky 16Ad, 16Ae mint and in strip on cover, 16Ac, 16Af in margin strip on cover, and a variety of non-Scott listed varieties, 2nd printing with #16e in strip, 16j in pair, 16i in pair and 16h in pair, inscription block, two Higa block in different inks, scarce 9.8 point (16d) strip of five on cover and again many non-Scott listed varieties, 3rd printing includes two #16Ba in block, 16Bf in block, 16Bg in pair, 16Bh in block, inscription block, strip on cover, two used Gushikawa postal forgeries, also section of shifts, cancels on and off cover and some non-surcharge sheets in quantities and a used plating 35% complete; an ideal collection for further continuation.

Of over 150 mint and used singles, pairs and blocks with value equally divided between the 1861-80 Perkins Bacon issues and the 1882-97 De la Rue issues. Includes first issue imperf pair, 1862 6d mint strip of 3, several De la Rue proofs, QV 1d with village cancels maritime cancels, used Silver Weddings (2) and a few KGVI and QEII with Sion Hill, Bequia and Mustique cancels.
