Funafuti, large Butaritari on piece and a matching 2d, NZ 1½d and 6d canceled Fanning Isl. (1907, 1909), s/l Abemama, Atafu and (K)ulambar(a), 1d Pines with SS Brunner, KGV 1d Nonouti and Abaian Isl. and KGV ½d - 1/ 10 stamps all with margin, 2 with plate number, etc., 2/6 Sydney Isl. and 1d pair canceled PO Tarawa and also bearing scribe manuscript. cancel 11/10/44/Tebaki/Kuria Island (very rare). A marvelous starter or intermediate collection of postmarks on and off cover in 4 volumes creatively presented using maps and photocopies from the Proud handbook. Nearly all towns appear to be represented including many scarce and rare, meticulously laid out and profusely illustrated. Mostly low values but also includes QV values to 5, 10/ (2) and 20/ on red paper. An excellent collection. Condition a bit mixed but generally F-VF.
