Phoenix Auctions Sale - 2185

Worldwide On-Line Auction - February 17-18, 2025

Welcome to Phoenix Auctions #2185, being held on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th February, both days starting at 10am. This will be our 2nd Auction for 2025.

Session 1 (lots 1-1403) Monday with Australia through to Tasmania.
Session 2 (lots 1404-3152) Tuesday with Victoria, WA and Territories and then Rest of World.

As usual there are many variety lots, particularly in the Roos and KGV Sideface issues, and also in early decimal period. There is a significant selection of mint Australian decimals in our Australian Postage section. We have our usual range of Postal History, FDCs (many rarities), Coins, Revenues (many WA lots), etc, and, of course, many, many postmarks with a good selection of rare numeral and datestamp cancels. There is a good selection of Coins including 15 Australian gold coins.

Rest of World collectors are always well catered for. There are nearly 800 lots in this section and the General & Single Country sections of the auction. There is a good selection of Foreign & British Commonwealth, with many pre-1970 mint & used sets, GB & Japan both have a useful selection of lots. With a wide variety of countries and many lots of Postal History, Stationery, etc, there is plenty to choose from.

Notes:

  • Most collection & accumulation type lots with a reserve of 50% of the estimate.
  • The buyer's commission is just 16½%.
  • New bidders need to be aware that, while there is no room bidding for these auctions, viewing, phone bidding and live internet bidding are still available. Lastly live bidding will skip over lots without any form of bid, so please enter some sort of bid, even if it is just $1, to ensure that these lots appear during live bidding. We hope you find its wide range of lots useful and interesting.
  • Viewing is available 10am-4pm from Sunday 9th to Sunday 16th February (There is no viewing on Saturday). Our address is Suite 2, Level 1, 441 Canterbury Rd, Surrey Hills, 3127. Call us if earlier viewing is required and call or email us if you need more information about a lot.
  • Auction 2185 is an on-line auction and will be live on the net via our own auction systems. Just login as usual and then open the Live Bidding window, the link is active from 20 minutes before the start of the auction. Live Bidding gives you the ability to bid on each lot just as if you were in the room. We also have phone bidding available.
