Worldwide Public Auction - June 23, 2025

Welcome to Phoenix Auctions #109, being held on Monday 23rd June, starting at 10am. This our 7th auction for 2025. Auction 109 is a public auction and will be held in our Boardroom. We hope you find the wide range of lots appealing and interesting.
  • Session 1 commences at 10.00am (lots (lots 8001-8341) Monday morning with Australian Commonwealth, Australian States and Territories.
    The Australian section has a good range of better Roos and KGV with shades and varieties. There are BCOF Trial Ovpts (lots 8223-4) and useful Australian Colonies. In the Territories lot 8328 is a very rare 1902 Norfolk Island cover.
  • Session 2 will commence no earlier than 1pm (lots 8342-8987) Monday afternoon with Rest of World.
    Rest of World collectors are very well catered for. There are nearly 650 lots in this section of the auction with many desirable lots. Canada & Provinces collectors will be pleased to see the significant range of very rare lots (lots 8368-8610). Of particular note is the Newfoundland 1919 Trans-Atlantic Air Post 3c Caribou MUH (lot 8404) and the 1930 Columbia Air Post 50c on 36c (lot 8420). New Zealand collectors are even better served (lots 8786-8929) with significant rarities including SG #1 both mint & used (lots 8786-7) and SG #3 1/- with Rowland Hill ‘CANCELLED’ (lot 8788), 1857-63 1/- on thick horizontal mesh paper (lot 8797), 1862-63 2d on pelure paper (lot 8814), 1864 1d pair roul 7 (lot 8823), the largest known multiple.

  • The buyer's commission is just 20.9%.
  • Viewing for this auction will be conducted at our offices: Suite 2, Level 1, 441 Canterbury Road Surrey Hills Victoria from 10am-4pm from Sunday 15th June to Sunday 22nd June (there is no viewing on Saturdays), limited viewing is available on auction days. Other times can be arranged by appointment.
  • Auction 109 is a public auction and will be live on the net via our own auction systems.
