"COLLECT POSTAGE 04 CENTS”, excellent strike applied on arrival to unfranked postcard from "SWATOW 22 OCT 15” (Shantou) via "SHANGHAI” to Massachusetts, USA. The card with one corner crease and some light toning, scarce
1878/1991 (ca.), mint never hinged/unused and used collection with some duplicates, including Postage Dues, Taiwan and Local Posts; opening with a selection of 1878/85 Large and Small Dragons up to the 5 candarins, the collection follows with an attractive choice of the first Chinese Imperial Post "cent” overprints extending to the Red Revenues, further issues showing 1897/1908 Coiling Dragons with some duplicates and including 1902 50 c. green and 1 d. dark red/salmon (Mi.-Nr. 68-69) with overprint "SPECIMEN”; Chinese Local Posts wih Shanghai in particular being well represented, together with some Provincial and Taiwan issues and a few covers. In addition, a substantial part of PRC with some blocks (some reprints noted). Condition somewhat mixed in the earlier issues; thereafter, apart from the occasional fault, overall in good condition. An inspiring assembly, neatly housed in one album.
1885/1909, small unused and used collection containing better items like Mi.-Nr. 4-6, 21-23, 46 unused, slightly mixed quality
1891/1937 (ca.), Foreign Post Offices in China, unused and used collection with 6 covers and cards, including a good selection of adhesives from the German Post Offices in Kiautschou to 2½ dollars, together with issues of the American, Italian and French Post Offices. Noted small envelope (ca. 1900) endorsed "Corps expéditionnaire de Chine", bearing a fine strike of the "TRÉSOR ET POSTE AUX ARMÉES CHINE 5 MARS" datestamp, sent to Privas with arrival datestamp on reverse. Slightly mixed condition.
1898/1995 (ca.), unmounted mint/unused and used accumulation with duplicates, commencing with some Coiling Dragons and Junk issues, after the 1950s mostly unused/mint neverg hinged, together with a small selection of French Offices in China, etc., in one album
