Nicht verausgabte 12 Kr. blau, farbfrisch und voll- bis breitrandig, mit sauber aufgesetzter Versuchsabstempelung "Franco". Schöne und tadellose Erhaltung. Im Februar 1850 hatte die Österreichische Staatsdruckerei den Druckauftrag für die ersten Freimarken von Österreich und der Lombardei-Venetien erhalten, der auch 1 Millionen Stück der 12 Kreuzer und 500'000 Stück der 60 Centesimi für das Porto für Briefe über 20 österreichische Meilen enthielt. Kaum war der gesamte Druckauftrag ausgeliefert, wurde im Vertrag zum Deutsch-Österreichischen Postvertrag ein Porto von 9 Kreuzern für den dritten Briefkreis festgelegt. Damit waren die bisherigen Höchstwerte obsolet und wurden am 3. Juni 1850 vernichtet. Von der 60 Centesimi-Marke kennt man heute kein einziges Stück, während sieben oder acht Werte der 12 Kreuzer-Freimarke existieren. Eine Rarität ersten Ranges der klassischen österreichischen und europäischen Philatelie. Attest Ferchenbauer (1977)
