997 CVR Italy imageThree Special 1961 Air Mail Covers to South America, each franked with a different commemorative stamp (full set of three) depicting flights to three different South American countries. The cover franked with the Argentina issue was mailed to Argentina, same for Uruguay and same for Peru. All were mailed from Rome in 1961 and all have receiving postmarks as well as commemorative cachets. We note that these stamps were issued on April 4 in anticipation for the April 6 new rate, and these covers are dated on the first day of this new rate (APR.6.1961). Interesting and very fine.
