79 CVR 14, 15 image1864 7c Rate First Cents Registered Folded Letter, the letter inside is datelined "Dorchester Canada West" and was mailed from London C.W. on MAY.17.1864 (two Berri duplex postmarks tie the stamps) to Southampton C.W., with a Saugeen U.C. MAY.19 transit on back. Franking is a 5c Beaver (for postage) and pair of 1c Queen Victorias (for registration). It appears that the folded letter was once glued shut, probably to safely contain the $64,30 it enclosed. A few small faults, else fine overall.

80 14b imageStrip of Three of the 1c Deep Rose Queen Victoria on a Newspaper Fragment, the horizontal strip has a deep shade and is tied by concentric ring cancels to a newspaper fragment indicating "3 papers" thus paying three times a newspaper rate. The stamps have trimmed perforations at bottom, having been cut off the sheet by scissors, fine.
