45 CVR   image1855 Hamilton Oval "PAID 140" Railway Handstamp on Cover, mailed from Hamilton on JUL.14.1855 (double broken circle free strike) to Buffalo NY. There is a red "CANADA / PAID 10 Cts" handstamp and an oval "PAID / 140" handstamp denoting that the postage fee was charged to box 140, either at the Hamilton G.W.R. Post Office or the main Hamilton P.O.. This postmark is listed as #RY-65 in Gray, with a rarity factor of "G" (his rarest level). Backflap tear and light crease, still a rare postmark.

47 CVR   image1859 Incoming Cover from Scotland to Montréal with "UNPAID 5" Trans-Atlantic Rate Marking, mailed from Edinburgh on AUG.31.1859, franked with six 1d Penny Red adhesives tied by "131" duplex cancels to Montréal (SEP.19.1959 receiver) and "UNPAID 5" handstamp, applied either at Québec or Montréal (very few of these exist, and even Montgomery is unclear as to where it was used). Very fine and ex Arnell (accompanied by his hand-written explanation) and Wilcocks.
