543 PC   image1925 (Jan. 28) Montreal Lamoureux (Type 3) Postmark on an Illustrated Admiral C.P.R. Card, a 1c Admiral "Banff Springs Hotel" card to Hartford, Conn., with a very fine strike of this scarce machine postmark. Undated, but Statement of Earnings on back is dated FEB.28.1923. For some reason, Rob Leigh did not report this type on the PHSC website, as he skipped from Type 2 to 4 - in his write-up of this item, he assigned it Type 3. Very fine and ex Walton. 544 CVR   image1925 (Nov 11) Montreal Type 8a-3 Lamoureux Cancel on Postage Due Cover, a very fine and complete impression with "Canadian Goods are Best" slogan (sub-type 3), on a "Perrin Glove Co." 2c Admiral corner card cover. Assessed "2" due handstamp, a very fine and attractive cover. Leigh reports (on the PHSC website) 18 examples of this postmark, 7 of which are this sub-type.

545 CVR   image1899 Calgary Type II Squared Circle on Numeral Registered Cover, mailed on FEB.27.1899 (three strikes tie the stamps, plus one free strike and two more on back) to London (MAR.3 receiver) via the "C.P.RY WEST OF WINNIPEG C" RPO (FEB.28 c.d.s.) and the "C.P.RY OTT & PT ARTHUR MC I" RPO (MAR.2 c.d.s.). The cover is franked with four 2c purple QV Numerals overpaying the 7c rate by 1c, possibly due to the fact that the rate had just been lowered from 8c to 7c on January 1st of that year. Very fine. 558 CVR 35ii, 45a image1893 Ottawa Type I Precancel on 12c Rate Small Queen Cover, mailed from Ottawa on 3 / JU 5 / 93 (squared circle free strike plus two more tying stamps, used in the first month of service) to Carleton Place Ont. (JUN.6 receiver), franked with pair of 1c yellow orange and a 10c rose Small Queens paying 4 times the weight rate. A nice use of the 10c value on a domestic cover. Reduced at left, which does not detract from this very fine and clean cover.
