1897 (Jan 8) Montréal
Yearless Imperial Flag on 10c Small Queen Cover to France, Redirected to Italy, mailed from Montréal on JAN.8.1897 (yearless "F" Ensign flag ties 10c SQ stamp) to Paris France (JAN.18.1897 receiver), then redirected to Rome, Italy (JAN.21

1898 (Mar 14)
Hamilton "G" Barred Flag Bickerdike Cancel, a 3c QV Leaf illustrated hotel advertising rebacked cover with an almost complete and very fine impression of the rare Hamilton "G" Bickerdike cancel, dated MAR.14.1898 (the earliest day of use, of the
only three days used, MAR.12, 14, 15). During the short period when the Hamilton post office sent their two Type F7 (involute flags) to Toronto to have reinforcement bars added, the Ottawa "G" obliterator was borrowed and used. The cover has been

1898 (Dec.17) Toronto
Bickerdike Flag "F8" with Inverted Obliterator, a "Minister's Widows and Orphans' Fund" 1c Queen Victoria postal stationery card mailed on DEC.17.1898 (with an inverted obliterator) to Montréal (next day machine receiver on back, plus a carrier's
marking, both proving year of use). This inverted obliterator is described by Larry Paige in his exhibit as "Only the date Dec.17, 1899 is recorded with two examples on record." Even though the impression is only about 80% visible, this is still a
very rare flag postmark (both the Lingard and Heasman exhibits did not have one) and a must have for the serious enthusiast. (Scan 1)

1902 (Feb 23) Toronto
Type M6 (B) Bickerdike Machine Late Use Cover, a complete strike ties a 2c QV Numeral to a Legislative Assembly of Ontario cover to Summersville, South Carolina (FEB.25 receiver on back). On February 5, 1902 Toronto installed and started to use
new International machine, and the old Bickerdikes were put aside. For a few spotty days after that, Toronto used the M6 (B) and (C), either when the International machine was getting maintenance, or when there was higher volume of mail, and this is
an example of that "out of period" use. Slightly reduced at top, still very fine and rare. (Scan 1)
