Rhodesia
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
715 nh/O   imageExtensive and Advanced Complete Collection of Mint and Used Rhodesia, 1965 to 1978, neatly displayed in black mounts on quadrille pages filling two Davo albums with matching slip cases. The collection goes through every issued stamp by first showing a mint (appears to be all NH) and a used of each, followed by loads of varieties, each described and often illustrated by way of a blow-up picture. These varieties are present in either in singles, or when possible in multiples, including control blocks, etc. We also saw a few selected postmarks on stamp and a few covers. Some issues are extensively researched, describing and showing printings, gums, fluorescence, papers, types of marginal imprints, perforations and more. Several of the varieties are listed in the South African Stamp Colour Catalogue (for example a 2c Postage Due printed on gummed side, plus numerous others). Probably one of the best Rhodesia collections offered out there, assembled by a collector who lived there at the time, and thus had access to good material. Very fine and fresh throughout, our photos only show a small sampling of some of the first issues, which are representative of the rest of the collection.
